Why Is Church Membership So Important?

The Bible talks about how important it is for Christians to live their lives together with other Christians (Hebrews 10:24-25). One of the most important things about us, is that God did not make us to live isolated lives. Instead, God calls us to live life in the context of community. Christian community helps us fight sin, grow in grace, deal with suffering and discouragement, grow in our ability to serve, worship, and so much more (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 3:12-14).
Our church is a group of people who: (1) believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, (2) commit to one another in membership, (3) gather together regularly to sing, pray, and hear God’s Word and be reminded of the gospel through Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
Our church is a family, and we are excited to have you be a part of it. We are glad you are here, and eager to see the good things the Lord will do in our lives together as we commit to live it with one another.

How do I become a member?

Church membership can seem like a big step and lots of unknowns. We don't want that to be the case for you here. In fact, you've already taken the initial step of seeking out answers to your questions. We expect you have more, and hopefully they will all be answered along the way. First, you will find our church's governing documents, church discipline policy, and Membership Covenant linked below for you to review. Doing so will help you understand who we are and how our church operates. After reviewing these documents, the process is pretty straight forward, and we will be walking with you through each step.

  • We will send a link to a sermon series about church membership and ask that you listen to it.
  • We will provide you with a book called I Am A Church Member and ask that you read it.
  • You will submit your salvation testimony.
  • One of our elders will reach out to you and invite you meet with them to get to know one another and answers any questions you may have.
  • You will be invited to sign the Membership Covenant

Then periodically throughout the year, new members will be introduced to the congregation and we hold special gatherings for new members to meet each other.

When you are ready, we want to encourage you to hop into our Membership Process. Review the documents below and fill out the interest form to get started!
